Breaking news on Papal visit: Inter-faith invitation; costs; itinerary; abuse

FOLLOWING Friday’s meeting in Rome between Pope Benedict XVI, Cardinal Keith O’Brien, Archbishop Vincent Nichols and Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O’Connor, a press conference  was held at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office today  confirming the details of the Holy Father’s visit to Britain this autumn. At the conference Lord Patten of Barnes, the government co-ordinator of the state visit, and Archbishop Nichols also spoke on the world watching Britain, costs and the abuse issue.
