Lauriston lecture postponed, theology summer school approaches

Mary Colwell

THE Lauriston Jesuit Centre in Edinburgh has postponed a talk at the centre scheduled for Monday July 5.

The Jesuits are hoping that Mary Colwell will be able to deliver her lecture on What is Truth—Truth and Integrity in the Broadcast Media later in the year. Flyers for the event had been distributed at the recent Romero Lectures with Fr Tommy Greenan.

“My apologies for the inconvenience and for the short notice, and I’d be grateful, should you happen to know of anyone who was planning to come, if you might pass this news on to them,” Fr Chris Boles said.

In other news, the living theology non-residential summer school—now in its 11th year and held annually at St Catharine’s Convent, Lauriston Gardens—is open for bookings. It will run from July 19-23 and the ‘core course’ this year by Fr James Crampsey SJ is on The Enigma of the Gospel of John.

Early application is advisable in order to secure membership of the optional courses of one’s choice. Participants are invited to bring a packed lunch each day, and soup and coffee are provided. The Eucharist is celebrated daily.
