Good news for you, me and everybody?

ON THE 30th anniversary of the release of John Landis’ film The Blues Brothers, the Vatican’s official newspaper has called the film a ‘Catholic classic’ and recommends it.

In the story, Jake and Elwood Blues—played by John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd—embark on an road trip featuring concerts, car chases, clashes with the police in a madcap bid to raise money for the Catholic orphanage where they grew up.

Now in this cult classic comedy, Elwood claimed: ‘They’re not gonna catch us. We’re on a mission from God’, and L’Osservatore Romano apparently took him at his word, according to ABC news.

No one has caught this film out yet and, even though spirituality does not play a significant role in the plot, its morality of sorts seems to be enough to get it on the recommended list.
