THE Scottish Catholic Observer would like to thank to thank His Eminence Cardinal Keith O’Brien, His Grace Archbishop Mario Conti, His Lordship Bishop Philip Tartaglia and all the clergy who have made the celebration of the newspaper’s 125th Mass possible yesterday.

A special vote of thanks goes to Fr Peter Griffiths and St Aloysius parish, Garnethill, Glasgow, for allowing us to join their noon Mass to mark the SCO’s 125th anniversary. We also thank their wonderful choir and choirmaster.

One member of the congregation yesterday kindly pointed out that ‘in the introduction to the Mass order of service there was no mention of thanks to the readership of the paper over the last 125 years.’

The Catholic Observer has been at the service of the Catholic community in Scotland for generations and we hope, with the help of our loyal readers, to continue to play a vital role for generations to come. Many thanks.

We look forward with you this year to the coming visit by His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI.
