Catholic vote returns to Labour in Glasgow East

TWO years ago the biggest upset in Scottish politics came when Glasgow East elected an SNP candidate. The East end of Glasgow constituency has a large Catholic population and, when Christian John Mason won the seat, the Catholic vote was cited as a contributing factor in the swing.

A few moments ago the returning officer declared that Labour’s Margaret Curran had regained the seat, albeit with a reduced majority from 2005.

    More likely to have been herded into a desperate attempt to ward off Cameron ALTHOUGH IT NEVER WORKED WITH THATCHER.
