One ‘vote’ that could count this year

AS Catholics it can be difficult to find someone or something to represent what we believe in the face on the onslaught of secularism.  We are not all joiners, we are not all vocal but sometimes fighting fire with fire is the only way make our voice heard.

The SCO would like to draw your attention to one way your signature could make a difference in this Papal visit year. To counter a particularly distasteful campaign by secularists, you can sign an online petition to show your support for Pope Benedict XVI’s forthcoming trip to our country.

We received an e-mail inviting us to take part in this petition of support which read :

During the recent Ad Limina Visit, the Holy Father announced his forthcoming trip to the UK, possibly sometime in September 2010. Sadly there is already opposition headed by the Secular Society of Great Britainto this visit. The Secular Society have an online petition which has already attracted over 20.000 signatures and yet a petition supporting the visit only has 1,200 signatures.

You are asked to visit the website and sign the supporting petition as we welcome the Holy Father to our country.

Please support this and spread it to others who may not know, by e-mail, word of mouth, put it in your local newsletter, whatever, I am sure we could beat their number if we try.
